چکیده

This manuscript describes the potential of a cutinase from the fungus Fusarium solani pisi for cotton wax degradation in order to design an efficient low temperature scouring process. The main characteristics, relevant to cotton wax removal with F. solani pisi cutinase are given. The additive effect of cutinase on pectinase was investigated and optimum incubation conditions were determined. Compatibility of cutinase with surfactants, essential for the rapid migration of enzymes into the fabric, is explored. A clear strategy is presented to achieve a rapid enzymatic cotton scouring process. Wax removal with cutinase reduces pectinase incubation time and increases the hydrolytic rate of pectinase. Cutinase appears to be effective in the degradation of cotton waxes at low-temperature, allowing the design and introduction of a competitive innovative enzymatic scouring process.

Characterization of Thermobifida fusca cutinase-carbohydrate-binding module fusion proteins and their potential application in bioscouring.

Cutinase from Thermobifida fusca is thermally stable and has potential application in the bioscouring of cotton in the textile industry. In the present study, the carbohydrate-binding modules (CBMs) from T. fusca cellulase Cel6A (CBM(Cel6A)) and Cellulomonas fimi cellulase CenA (CBM(CenA)) were fused, separately, to the carboxyl terminus of T. fusca cutinase. Both fusion enzymes, cutinase-CBM(C...

Heterologous expression of Aspergillus aculeatus endo-polygalacturonase in Pichia pastoris by high cell density fermentation and its application in textile scouring

BACKGROUND Removal of non-cellulosic impurities from cotton fabric, known as scouring, by conventional alkaline treatment causes environmental problems and reduces physical strength of fabrics. In this study, an endo-polygalacturonase (EndoPG) from Aspergillus aculeatus produced in Pichia pastoris was evaluated for its efficiency as a bioscouring agent while most current bioscouring process has...

Process Optimization for Bioscouring of Cotton Fabrics with Pectinase obtained from Paecilomyces variotii

Enzymes are bio-active compounds or catalyst that regulates many chemical reactions in living tissues and cells (Prathyusha and Suneetha, 2011). These enzymes have useful applications in paper, fruit and textile industries. Almost 75% of the estimated sale value among industrial enzymes in 1995 has been contributed by pectinases. As a result, Pectinase became one of the futuristic useful enzyme...

Extracellular overexpression of recombinant Thermobifida fusca cutinase by alpha-hemolysin secretion system in E. coli BL21(DE3)

BACKGROUND Extracellular expression of proteins has an absolute advantage in a large-scale industrial production. In our previous study, Thermobifida fusca cutinase, an enzyme mainly utilized in textile industry, was expressed via type II secretory system in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3), and it was found that parts of the expressed protein was accumulated in the periplasmic space. Due to the fact...
